There are two great restaurants at the Fairfax that can easily provide a special Valentine’s day dinner that you and your companion will surely enjoy. The original restaurant is the Fairfax Grill and Lounge that offers a unique nautical theme, complete with wood panels and model ships, to boot.

The Fairfax Grill and Lounge offers a quaint place to unwind while sipping drinks and dining on great food and just enjoying the company of another person. This hotel restaurant offer American cuisine and is open from 5 PM to 11 PM; dinner and bar service available within this timeframe.

The Capital Room is the second restaurant at the Fairfax and has just opened. Once named The Jockey Club, The Capital Room has catered to the likes of the Kennedy couple and the legendary Frank Sinatra. Ambiance is cool and sophisticated, with leather-lined chairs, an abundance of wood paneling and warm lighting.

Dress code is casual sophistication and the restaurant offers a great lineup of America cuisine with fresh and exciting flavors. Go to The Capital Room for breakfast every day from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. On weekends the restaurant is open 30 minutes longer.

If these two restaurants don’t quite suit you then you can go to 1310 New Hampshire Avenue and visit The Firefly, which is a Dupont Circle Restaurant. Choose The Firefly if you are craving for a private dining experience. You will have to fill out a form online informing the restaurant of your preferred dining date.

It would be best to book at the Fairfax hotel now and book your dinner at The Firefly so they don’t run out of available reservations. Great restaurants are often full during special occasions and you can be sure that there are others who are also looking for an extra-special private dining experience with their partners.

The Firefly restaurant is currently offering a $65/person Valentine’s Day 3 Course Chef’s Tasting. This includes smoked cherry jam, grilled artisan baguette and local honeycomb in the baked Vermont brie. Entrees include crispy skin organic loch Duart Salmon caviar beurre blanc, Yukon gold puree, baby mustard greens and pickled mustard seed. Peking duck breast is also available and coffee rubbed USDA Prime NY Strip. For dessert, there is sumptuous lemon shortcake, poppy seed curd, crème fraiche, candied peel and blueberry.
