Fans of both comic books and the cinema will love the new display of the Batmobile at the National Museum of American History. This particular vehicle comes from the 1989 Warner Brothers film entitled Batman, directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton as the caped crusader. Burton’s Batmobile was designed by Anton Furst and inspired by Salt Flat Racers and Corvette Stingrays of the 1950s, creating an Art Deco vibe that permeated the film. Batman was one of the first true successes of the superhero genre that rules box offices today.
