The National Building Museum invites you to discover how the famous Manhattan Project yielded three new cities featuring remarkable architecture. The project began with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers covertly acquiring land on which to build the facilities to conduct the unprecedented effort of building the atomic bomb. By the end of the war, more than 125,000 people lived in these secret cities. This exhibit will showcase the innovative design and construction of these cities, as well as their evolution after the project was completed.
